As a farm kid, I was raised to be independent. The farming community certainly unites to support one another, but day-to-day, you were encouraged to go-it-alone and figure it out.
There are certainly a lot of benefits to that approach, but what I’ve learned as a business owner and entrepreneur is that collaborative partnerships are not only enjoyable, they’re a powerful way to build a business and support others who share similar goals.
A few years ago, I met three highly talented writers and we began meeting weekly via video to share ideas, support one another in growing our businesses, and we started talking about building something together.
